If you are visiting Ottawa, we encourage you to come see the beautiful historic buildings at Parliament Hill. You can enjoy tours, watch important debates and proceedings in the Senate and the House of Commons, and visit the Parliamentary Boutique for a souvenir of your time in our nation’s capital.
***Please be aware that in late January 2019, Centre Block (including the Peace Tower) will be closing to the public in order for significant and necessary restorations to take place. The House of Commons will be temporarily relocating to new chambers in the recently restored West Block, and the Senate will be moving to the Government Conference Centre across from the Chateau Laurier. Please visit this web page for more information on the restoration process.
You can experience Parliament at the above-mentioned new locations starting in February 2019, once Centre Block closes. Reserve tickets online for new guided tours of the Senate at the Senate of Canada Building and the House of Commons at West Block. Guided tours of Centre Block and the Library of Parliament will continue only until January 25th.
More information on tours for individuals/families and schools can be found on the Parliament of Canada website.
If you would like to sit in on the House of Commons debates (Question Period), you must get tickets through your Member of Parliament’s office. Please get in touch with us at Peter.Fragiskatos@parl.gc.ca or 519.663.9777 for more information.
If you can’t make it to Ottawa, remember you can always watch House of Commons and Senate proceedings live on the Canadian Public Affairs Channel (CPAC).
